When planning your trip to the store, planning your coupon savings is a must.
Whether it’s a trip to the grocery store or a drug store like CVS or Walgreen’s, it’s a great help to check out the forums listed on the Finding Sources page.
They have lots of “store specific” advice that will help you decide where to head this week for the best prices.
Starting out, it may be easier to plan just one week ahead. More than that may be overwhelming! (I know it was for me!)
Most stores, whether national or regional, have a webpage that you can sign in to. This way, you can always pull up your locally customized weekly ad.
Also, by giving them your email and mailing address, you will receive coupons, discounts and samples that others won’t!
A great software that helps you plan for your shopping trip is Aisle-by-Aisle Grocery List Software. It saves you time and money because you have everything listed right in front of you.
Once you have put something in, (ingredients to a recipe, for example), it remembers it so you won't forget anything when you're headed to the store.
Mygrocerydeals.com is great for finding stores in your area, and finding “what” is on sale at “which” stores! You can print out your shopping list for all the stores to take with you, and compare prices while you are shopping.
Couponmom.com has excellent resources for planning your trip.
You can program the grocery store ads that you want, print lists for what you want from the weekly ad, and it will include the coupons available and the source of the coupon!
Also, you can enter the names or types of products that you would like to be alerted about when they come on sale at any of the stores that you frequent.
This video from AllYou.com shows a wonderful tool they have for planning from your local weekly sales. It includes ways to shop by stores, categories, or even by specific individual items:
Make sure when you head to the store, you have everything you could possibly need, cause you don’t want to be distracted by “the little things”.
I have a tote bag I carry all my couponing in. It has in it:
*An extra pair of reading glasses
*A small pair of scissors
*A small calculator
*A pen
*And a few spare paper clips
*A bottle of water usually makes it into my bag too, just in case!
Planning your coupon savings takes some forethought, but you'll be mastering it in no time!
